Japan's national public broadcaster NHK has announced on Friday that they will interview Eren Yeager, the protagonist of Attack on Titan, on their long-running documentary series Professional Shigoto no Ryuugi, known in English as The Professionals. The documentary will explore the anti-hero's daily life as a soldier and his motivations.
This will be the first time the Professional Shigoto no Ryuugi documentary will follow a fictional anime character, though it's not the first to follow a fiction character, with the documentary once doing an episode on Hatsune Miku. Other anime affiliated people that have been documented include Japanese filmmaker, animator, and actor Hideaki Anno and the legendary Hayao Miyazaki.
The new Eren Yeager special will broadcast on NHK General in Japan on October 23 ahead of the second and final part of Attack on Titan: The Final Season - The Final Chapters on November 4, so expect Eren and the rest of the Scout Regiment such as Mikasa Ackermann, Armin Arlert, and Levi Ackerman to appear on the special. NHK described the special as such:
The special will be narrated by Shihori Kanjiya, who starred in the 2017 live-action adaptation of Hyouka: Forbidden Secrets, and Satoshi Hashimoto, who voiced in the 2005 anime The King of Fighters: Another Day.
Kodansha holds the North American license to the Attack on Titan (Japanese: Shingeki no Kyojin) manga series by Hajime Isayama, which concluded with the release of its 139th chapter on April 9, 2021. The series will also be getting a new artbook and Volume 15.
