Diego Luna graced the Star Wars panel at the recent D23 2024 to tease fans of what to expect from the upcoming Andor Season 2. However, though the actor shared how much the show had changed his life following his first outing as Cassian Andor in Gareth Edwards’ 2016 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, there was one thing that he hadn’t done in the franchise. That said, Luna has given up on his dream of meeting the iconic Star Wars character, Jabba the Hutt, considering his series will be in its second and final season.

In his first foray into the Star Wars world with Rogue One, Luna has openly expressed his dream of touching Jabba the Hutt. However, several years have passed, and Andor is about to end with Season 2, but the Mexican actor still hasn’t encountered the renowned crime lord. Hence, in an interview with IGN, he was asked if he had already fulfilled his dream, given up on it, or still had a glimmer of hope.

“I gave up on that,” he said. “I mean, it’s over. It’s not happening.”

Though he failed to make his wish come true, Luna revealed he was fine with it. He claimed he no longer wanted to touch Jabba the Hutt, and his fascination with him was “over.”

“I sent the message to the universe, and it didn’t happen,” he continued. “I sent the message to the galaxy, and ten years later, I’m still talking about it. No, enough.”

Luna may not have gotten the chance to face Jabba the Hutt on screen, but he has achieved even greater Star Wars dreams by having his own show. In fact, he’s now set to return to Andor Season 2 and continue the story of Andor as he is now on his way to becoming the rebel hero fans loved in Rogue One.

What to Expect from Andor Season 2

Star Wars featured behind-the-scenes footage and clips of Andor Season 2 at D23 in Anaheim. TIE fighters, Stormtroopers, epic fights, and, of course, the rebels dominate the scene, hinting at a number of action-packed sequences fans have to see when the show returns on Disney+ in 2025. Not only that, but the biggest reveal is the return of Ben Mendelsohn as Orson Krennic, alongside Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera and K-2SO.

While talking at the Anaheim stage (via IGN), he revealed that the show had changed his life after he had lived as Andor for the past 10 years. He found it great to have the chance to complete Andor’s story from the first season to Rogue One.

“In the first season, we go through a single year,” he told the attendees. “He lives under the rule of the empire. Got a taste of courage.”

So, in Andor Season 2, there will be a four-year time jump where Andor will become the rebel hero everyone knows. The actor even teased that the stakes would be greater, enemies would be more organized, and the clock would start to tick as the threat of the Empire kept growing.

“Andor has a high purpose, freedom, and a better tomorrow,” he continued.
