There is little doubt that Ahsoka has been all about reminiscing everything that went down in Star Wars Rebels. The series had allowed fans to revisit the beloved characters they met in the animated show. However, people are also loving the new characters introduced in the Disney+ drama. For instance, everyone can't stop talking about Sabine Wren's Loth-cat and all the attention led to the furry critter getting its own poster.
In the two-episode premiere of Ahsoka, it was revealed that Sabine Wren had adopted a Loth-cat after living in Lothal. The creature turned out to be a valuable companion to the Mandalorian and sensed the presence of villains who were coming to harm its mistress.
Not surprisingly, viewers adored the little Loth-cat who Natasha Liu Bordizzo had previously confirmed to be mostly animatronic (just like Grogu in The Mandalorian). The Star Wars Instagram account took notice and shared an awesome new poster of the creature.
It's great to see the little Loth-cat getting its own poster and it also suggests that it could play an important role in Ahsoka. After all, Star Wars Rebels already established that Loth-cats are integral to a character's journey.
What Are Loth-cats and Why Are They Important to Star Wars Rebels?
Loth-cats are a member of the tooka species native to Lothal and just like regular cats (or Chopper), they can be temperamental. However, they have proven to be quite useful to the characters in Star Wars Rebels. For instance, a pair of Loth-cats helped Sabine and Ezra Bridger complete a mission by attacking the Imperial guards of a TIE D Defender Elite.
Ezra also made an important connection to the white Loth-cat which appeared to have a special connection to the Force. This allowed it to manifest in Ezra's Force visions and even led him to Ryder Azadi. With that in mind, the inclusion of a Loth-cat in Ahsoka and its bond with Sabine continues to give fans hope that the Mandalorian would later be revealed to be more Force-sensitive than we all initially thought.
For now, it is unclear whether Sabine's Force sensitivity will be confirmed or if the Loth-cat's appearance is already hinting at the idea. In the meantime, fans will have to continue watching Ahsoka to find out more. The third episode of the Star Wars series will premiere on Disney+ on August 29, 2023.
