A friendless freshman's wish for companionship is about to get a very alien answer on screen. Kou Sawada's Yumene Connect manga is getting a television anime adaptation, with the news unveiled on the anime's newly launched official website alongside a teaser visual and teaser trailer.
The official Yumene Connect anime website revealed the adaptation on October 14, confirming the animation studio, the core staff, and the first two cast members. Studio Massket will produce the animation, with Shochiku's anime label presenting the series.
The teaser trailer gives the first animated look at Yuhi's miserable school life colliding with Nano's arrival from planet Pokoton, setting the tone for the chaos her alien products are about to unleash on him.

The announcement named two lead cast members. Yusuke Kobayashi voices protagonist Yuhi Takamiya, the unlucky loner whose high school life keeps getting derailed by extraterrestrial interference. Kobayashi is known for headlining roles including Subaru Natsuki in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World and Senku Ishigami in Dr. Stone. Yu Sasahara voices Nano, the scatterbrained alien girl from planet Pokoton who hears Yuhi's wish for friends and descends on Earth determined to grant it — by pushing dubious outer-space merchandise on him.
Sota Yokote is directing the series at Studio Massket. The official site's staff listing also names Gigaemon Ichikawa as series composer and scriptwriter, Yoshihiro Watanabe as character designer, and Hayato Matsumura as composer, with Lantis producing the music.
A teaser visual was released alongside the trailer through the anime's official channels.
To celebrate the announcement, manga creator Kou Sawada drew a special illustration spotlighting Nano, the alien girl at the heart of the story.
No broadcast date has been announced yet, and no additional cast beyond the two leads has been revealed. The official site also introduces a third character, the dangerous parasitic lifeform Nyoru Puppu Panpippi, though no voice actor has been attached to the role so far.
What is Yumene Connect about?
Yumene Connect is written and illustrated by Kou Sawada and has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine since September 2024. The manga's tenth compiled volume goes on sale in Japan on October 16.
The story follows Yuhi Takamiya, a first-year high school student who came down with a mysterious high fever on the day of his entrance ceremony and missed his entire first week of school. Desperate to hide the fact that he has no friends, he adopts a bookworm persona that quickly becomes his established identity. When his despair over being a loner reaches the stars, a clumsy alien named Nano arrives from space to help — and promptly moves in with Yuhi, dragging along the parasitic alien lifeform Nyoru Puppu Panpippi. Nano's outrageous alien gadgets send Yuhi's school life spiraling into ever-greater chaos in what the official site bills as a full-sensory science-fiction comedy with a lewd streak.
Here's the official synopsis from the Yumene Connect anime website (translated):
Your wish — this "product" can grant it all! Absent from his first day of high school, Yuhi Takamiya became a loner — until Nano, an alien from planet Pokoton, arrived from space! Thanks to good-for-nothing Nano's outrageous products, Yuhi's school life accelerates all at once!!
The manga has been building momentum in Weekly Shōnen Magazine for two years, and the anime announcement arrives just ahead of the tenth volume's release. With a teaser trailer already out and the main staff and leads in place, more details — including a premiere window — are expected to follow through the anime's official channels.
