In collaboration with ILM Immersive, Marvel Studios announced its first-ever interactive Disney+ story earlier this month. Based on the animated anthology series What If…?, it will feature epic storytelling that will take viewers to the Multiverse. After just a couple of weeks, the studio has dropped the official trailer for What If...? – An Immersive Story, showing The Watcher introducing vast new realities and its release date of May 30, 2024, exclusively on Apple Vision Pro.

The What If...? – An Immersive Story trailer begins with The Watcher talking about time, space, and reality while showing different glimpses of Marvel shows and characters through broken glasses. Uatu introduces himself as the viewers’ guide through these new vast realities. Thanos then appears, obtaining the Reality Stone as The Watcher claims that Multiversal villains have broken from their destinies.
The Collector then receives the Time Stone, which excites him the most. As this puts the Multiverse in danger, The Watcher reveals it will be in the viewers' hands to stop this from happening with the help of Master Wong, who enters the scene through a circle of fire. Wong brings the book of spells to teach magic to everybody.
From there, the trailer shows how viewers can participate using Apple Vision Pro. By wielding a hand, the users can create a circle of fire themselves to enter a different timeline. “You’re going to be faced with a choice,” Wong says. The fight then begins to get the Infinity Stones back.
Which Marvel characters will appear in What If…? – An Immersive Story?
So far, Marvel Studios has yet to reveal the full list of Marvel characters who will appear in What If…? – An Immersive Story? However, in addition to The Watcher and Wong, the trailer shows the appearances of Black Widow, Hush, The Collector, Hela, Carol Danvers as Nova, and Thanos.
However, an earlier press release revealed that viewers would encounter Multiversal variants of their favorite characters. Through Apple Vision Pro, Wong would teach the viewers to perform Mystic Arts using different hand gestures as they tried to acquire the Infinity Stones back from the villains.
What is What If…? – An Immersive Story about?
What If...? - An Immersive Story will reimagine the events from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in mixed reality. Here, viewers will play the lead role using Apple Vision Pro. They will travel across realities as the world around them transforms. With the help of several Marvel superheroes, they will control the power of the Infinity Stones together.

Hence, many may not have the chance to experience this epic storytelling.
