English Dean, the executive producer of Warrior Nun, has finally revealed the future of the fantasy drama series after Netflix canceled the show in December 2022. As many hope a third installment will be made, fans are treated to something more. Instead, the show will return as a “trilogy of motion pictures,” meaning three movies based on Ava’s story are coming up.
Created by Simon Bary, Warrior Nun is based on the comic character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn. It was supposed to be a feature film, but it was reimagined as a TV series after Netflix ordered its first season. The first season premiered in July 2022 to positive reviews. But after the second season was released in November 2022, it was canceled the next month.
The countdown on the website Warrior Nun Saved, which started in July after a massive fan campaign, ended on August 15. And from there, Dean shared a YouTube video of him revealing the big announcement to fans.
“I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures,” he said. “Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three.”
What will the 3 Warrior Nun movies be about?
Unfortunately, Dean kept much information about the upcoming three Warrior Nuns movies private. He only said he could not confirm anything about the writers and actors who would work on the films due to the ongoing Hollywood writers and actors strikes. Anyhow, he teased that this trilogy might start a Warrior Nun universe.

Where will the 3 Warrior Nun movies be released?
Sadly, Dean also did not reveal where the three Warrior Nun movies would be released. But according to TVLine's sources, it might not land on Netflix. It remains to be seen if the trilogy will have a theatrical release or will be once again streamed on another streaming network.
Considering there are several streamers today, the possibilities are endless. But as Dean promised, there will be more details about it “in the future.”
Whatever the case is, fans will surely look forward to this Warrior Nun trilogy. As we all wait for the next update, you can start binge-watching the series’ two seasons on Netflix.
