Netflix is now gearing up for the upcoming Virgin River Season 5 Christmas episodes' release. In just three days, the stories of the residents of the much-loved fictional town are about to continue, and for the first time, the show has been divided into two parts to celebrate the holiday season. The service has dropped the series’ first nine minutes to give a glimpse of the special episodes, showing Mel and Jack’s extraordinary celebrations.

Virgin River Season 5 Christmas episodes’ opening scenes, which can only be found on Netflix’s website, start with Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) looking for the best Christmas tree in the middle of the Redwood forests to make their first festive celebration extraordinary. However, as this will be the first time they will celebrate it with their families, it won’t be just a Sheridan family Christmas tree but a Brenner-Monroe-Clivesdale-Sheridan family Christmas tree.

The next scene then focuses on Brie (Zibby Allen) and Mike (Marco Grazzini) as they’re baby-proofing the house for the arrival of her sister Mary’s kids. But as Mary won’t make it, Brie starts to get nervous that all of her parents’ attention will be on each other without their grandkids. True enough, Brie’s father, Sam (Tom Butler), arrives angry after seeing her mother, Amelia (Gabrielle Rose), and her new boyfriend when he checks in on the B&B. As Brie promises to talk to her mom, her dad tells her to let her mom’s boyfriend return to Sacramento immediately.

To make things lighter, the scene shifts to Mel and Jack welcoming the former’s sister, Joey (Jenny Cooper), with her kids and her fiancé, Nate (Dan Payne), as they decorate the Christmas tree. As Mel prepares for drinks, Joey tells Mel she has their mom’s love letters, which contain the notes from her biological father, with her.

For the last set of the first nine-minute Virgin River Season 5 Christmas episodes, Hope (Annette O’Toole) and Doc (Tim Matheson) also prepare for the holidays in their home with Denny (Kai Bradbury) and Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale). As they talk about the Christmas tree decorating competition in town, the four share eggnogs, though Lizzie’s drink doesn’t contain rum cause it’ll be bad for the baby. The topic then shifts to the kid, as they learn that Lizzie’s mom hasn’t known about her pregnancy yet. So, they encourage her to tell the truth and consider it a Christmas gift to her mother.
