Eddie Brock and his alter-ego Venom will soon hit the big screen with the upcoming Venom 3 later this year after being delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. As the filming finally resumed in November 2023 after a resolution was met, its new cast member, Juno Temple, whose role is yet to be disclosed, revealed what it’s like working with the film’s lead star, Tom Hardy.
In an interview with Variety, while talking about the Fargo finale and the possible Ted Lasso spin-off about Hannah Waddingham, she was asked about her experience working with Hardy on the set of Venom 3. “I’m learning lots,” she said.
The actress also found the production “fun and interesting,” knowing how their scenes would change when they finally played out in the theaters. “There are so many things that you film that when the movie finally comes out, will look different to what they were when we were filming them,” she explained. Aside from that, Temple is also excited to see the “creations that happened” behind the camera.
The 34-year-old star entered negotiations to join the cast of Venom 3 in April 2023 alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor. Though her role is described as a lead character, there are no clues as to who it might be. Anyhow, there are theories that Ejiofor may play Orwell Taylor, who created The Jury to avenge the death of his son.
What is Venom 3 about?
Though details about the plot of Venom 3 remain under wraps, there are strong beliefs that it will feature Eddie traveling to the multiverse. The post-credits scenes of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home both hint that the latter film will have a connection to Hardy’s third outing as Venom.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Venom 2 director Andy Serkis knew that fans wanted to see Venom and Spider-Man’s meeting finally happen. However, he believed a “real mileage in some of the other supervillains that reside in Ravencroft” needed to be uncovered.
“That would be the sandbox I’d be really interested in playing in. Who’s lurking in there that could break out?” he teased.
Venom 3 was originally scheduled to be released on July 12, 2024, but it was moved to November 8, 2024, due to the actors’ strike. That said, more promotional stints may be coming out in the coming months that will reveal more details about the movie as its release date nears.
