Star Wars: Skeleton Crew New Plot Description Reportedly Revealed

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will be about four kids who make a mysterious discovery.

Now that Ahsoka Season 1 recently wrapped up with all eight episodes now available to stream on Disney+, the next project for Lucasfilm's Star Wars brand is Skeleton Crew. The project was initially pitched as a series tonally similar to movies such as Stand By Me and The Goonies, but set in a galaxy far, far away. Now, this notion was confirmed by the first copyright filing of the studio, which revealed that the group of four kids make a discovery that's both dangerous and strange.

"In the first episode of the Skeleton Crew we are introduced to four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet and get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy," the new description reads. "Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies, will be a great adventure than they ever imagined."

According to the filing, the pilot episode of Skeleton Crew is directed by Jon Watts, with the main cast members being Jude Law, Robert Timothy Smith, Ryan Kiera, Ravi Cavot-Conyers, Kyrianna Kratter.

What is Star Wars: Skeleton Crew about?

At Star Wars Celebration, closed-doors footage of Skeleton Screw opened with the kids living on a forested world and doing the kind of activities that kids in Amblin-inspired films and shows usually do: heading to school and riding (speeder) bikes while having adventures. Then one day, their adventure begins as they leave the planet aboard what appears to be a mercenary starship.

The gang of kids consists of one boy, two girls, and a small alien that appears to be an Ortolan. They meet weird creatures and pirates, among which is Vane, a Nikto scoundrel introduced in The Mandalorian Season 3. The end of the sneak peek teased an escape out of a prison thanks to the help of a Force-sensitive character played by Jude Law.
