The latest Netflix trailer of The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2 was recently released, giving us nothing but goosebumps and excitement. However, it did get quite sad in the end as we witnessed what might very well be the last stand of the Geralt of Rivia.
In the official trailer for the show’s upcoming episodes, Jaskier says, "The war brewing outside is nothing compared to what Geralt will unleash to protect his daughter." Netflix has released the trailer which is filled to the brim with action and adventure, featuring Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer.
Fans will get a chance to witness their battles as they fight for their survival in The Witcher, both separately and together.
As soon as the trailer begins, we see the magic school, Aretuza, being destroyed, and Yennefer is seen hugging a crying Ciri. Throughout the trailer, Geralt is busy fighting soldiers and later promises Yennefer and Ciri that he will always protect them.
Ciri is shifted to a mysterious desert land where she is forced to look after herself while Yennefer and Geralt fight their opponents. Even though epic action sequences have become a popular foundation of the Netflix series, the footage in the trailer portrays an unusual sense of hopelessness and dread.

This further increases as you near the end of the trailer, in which Geralt’s sword breaks during a fight, and the scene suddenly changes to his bloody body floating in the water.
Changes in The Witcher’s Season 3 Vol. 2
With the release of The Witcher Season 3 Vol. 2 comes the unfortunate departure of Henry Cavill. Back in 2022, the actor announced that he would no longer play the role of Geralt of Rivia after the show’s third season. However, his exact reasons behind this decision remain a mystery to us.
Liam Hemsworth will replace Cavill in The Witcher’s future seasons, with showrunners promising that fans can expect a plot-based explanation behind Geralt’s change of appearance.

The Witcher is based on a series of novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski and was first adapted for television in 2019. Ever since its initial release, fans have loved the series, despite mixed reviews. Many were upset with the pacing of the show, while others believed the show didn't do the novel justice.
Nevertheless, Henry Cavill’s performance and his vast knowledge of Witcher lore have been widely admired, leaving fans to wonder how the show will remain the same.
The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2 is scheduled to release on Netflix on July 27, 2023.
