Grand Theft Auto VI fans have already begun printing their own Macca the Gator statues, with usable files circulating less than a day after Rockstar Games unveiled its $400 Collector’s Box. The recreation effort started almost as soon as official photos of the alligator went live.
On September 24, Rockstar Games revealed Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a limited premium box priced at $399.99 in the United States. The package contains eleven physical items: a six-inch Macca the Gator figure with a hidden compartment, matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses and GTA VI branding, a New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback decorated with Vice City and Leonida details, a Leonida Keys crossbody bag, a Macca the Gator magnetic mirror, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, a Vice City swizzle spoon, a razor-blade-shaped keychain, a set of Leonida Keys enamel pins in a metal tin, a matching sticker pack in a stash bag, and a double-sided souvenir poster that shows Vice City artwork on one side and a full map of Leonida on the other.
The game itself is sold separately. That missing disc or download code is what most upset players. Many had expected a traditional collector’s edition that bundled the software with extras. Instead they saw a $400 merch crate that still required a second purchase on launch day. Online reactions mixed sarcasm with genuine frustration, arguing that Rockstar had priced nostalgia and lifestyle accessories as if they were the main event while leaving the actual game off the packing list.
The most discussed object inside the crate is the six-inch figure of Macca the Gator. The alligator is a personality from a fictional Leonida television series who has steadily moved from background flavor to one of the most visible mascots in GTA 6 promotion, appearing across trailers, artwork, and now this entire merch line.
It did not take long before fans made their own version. Almost as soon as official photos of the box went public, printers started posting early replicas of the smiling reptile. The scramble intensified on September 25, when a downloadable recreation of the statue landed on Cults3D. From that point, anyone with a printer and a little patience could try building one without waiting for Rockstar’s shipment.
The Cults3D page breaks the design into separate STL files for the alligator and its stand. The uploader recommends resin for a finished piece that stands about 16 centimeters tall and lists the files under the site’s open-pricing model, so buyers can pay what they choose or nothing at all.
A homemade print will not automatically match the licensed product. Rockstar’s official statue includes a rotating stash space in the base, a detail the company highlights as part of the $399.99 set. Fan files capture the pose and silhouette, but they do not promise that hidden compartment or the same factory finish. Some makers will add their own twist mechanisms or leave the base solid. Others will treat the print as a cheaper display piece and ignore the official extra entirely. Either way, the existence of the files already undercuts the idea that the alligator can only be owned by people willing to buy the full crate.
The speed of the response also says something about how GTA 6 marketing has worked. Macca the Gator was never meant to be a silent statue. The character is written as a loud, slightly sleazy local celebrity from Leonida television, the kind of in-world mascot Rockstar has used before to sell a setting’s personality. By putting that face on sunglasses, pins, a poster, and a figure with a secret compartment, the company turned a joke TV host into the face of a $400 lifestyle box. Fans answered in the language they know best: they copied it, printed it, and shared it before the official object could become scarce.
Not every print will look store-ready. Resin work still requires supports, washing, curing, and paint. Cheap filament versions will show layer lines. Some files may need scaling or cleanup. The Cults3D listing is a starting point, not a guaranteed museum replica. Still, the barrier is now equipment and skill rather than four hundred dollars plus shipping. That change arrived in less than forty-eight hours.
GTA 6: Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is set to release on November 19 alongside the game. Until then, the unofficial alligators will keep appearing on desks, shelves, and social feeds, a reminder that GTA 6 fans rarely wait for official channels when they can make the mascot themselves.
