The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2 was truly an action-packed rollercoaster as viewers went through several emotions while watching the last three episodes. However, there's another reason why fans are freaking out right now. The final image of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia has surfaced on social media and people are mourning the end of an era for the Netflix series.
It has already been confirmed that The Witcher Season 3 will be the final one for Henry Cavill as he announced his departure from the show last year. However, the series will still move forward, recasting Geralt of Rivia with The Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth. With that in mind, people were already expecting to see Cavill's final episodes as Geralt this month.
Still, we can't help but feel emotional about the idea of saying goodbye to Cavill's incarnation of Geralt. This was proven when a Witcher fan account posted a photo of Cavill with the actors playing Nilfgaardian soldiers in the series. The image was declared to be the last picture taken of Cavill in his costume.
It didn't take long for fans to find the tweet and they immediately mourned the loss of Henry Cavill's Geralt. Many pointed out that the series will not be the same without Cavill's passionate approach to the character and general storyline. With that in mind, people began saying their emotional goodbyes to Cavill as the White Wolf.
Again, The Witcher is far from over. The last three episodes of the current season somehow hinted at Ciri playing an even larger role in Season 4 and could possibly take over as the main character of the series.
In The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2, Ciri finally made it out of the strange desert only to be captured by trappers. However, she meets the Rats, a group of young criminals who help her defeat her captors and face the biggest fight of her life (so far). The fight was an eye-opening experience for the Lion Cub of Cintra who will undoubtedly be set on a dangerous journey ahead. With that in mind, we're looking forward to watching Ciri's story unfold in the fourth season.
