Andrzej Sapkowski has unveiled a release window for his upcoming Witcher novel, providing eager fans with a glimpse into the future of the renowned book series. Interestingly, it looks like the Netflix series has influenced the author's next book!

During a recent appearance at Comic Con Vienna, Sapkowski disclosed that the novel is scheduled to debut in Poland in 2024, followed by a worldwide release in 2025 (via IGN Poland). In addition to that, the author confirmed that the upcoming book was somehow inspired by the Netflix series and not the other way around!

"[Netflix] made a series based on one short story. They forced me to continue," Sapkowski said. "I'm not complaining. Thanks to this, I now have enough money for the rent."

This is great news for fans who have been waiting for an update on the new novel. Additionally, Sapkowski may have offered a hint at what to expect in his next book.

What We Know So Far About The Next The Witcher Novel

The announcement has sparked speculation about the novel's theme, with the possibility that it could tie into Netflix's Witcher series. The streaming giant is currently developing Season 4 of The Witcher, and Sapkowski's novel might delve into narratives or characters connected to the upcoming season. Additionally, Netflix has revealed plans for Sirens of the Deep, a new animated Witcher movie set in the same period as Season 1, featuring the return of Doug Cockle as Geralt of Rivia. While the novel's alignment with these projects is uncertain, it offers intriguing possibilities.

However, Sapkowski is known for his straightforward communication style, and this revelation may also indicate an original work within The Witcher universe. The author has previously mentioned providing ideas to Netflix, though he claimed they were disregarded. This could suggest Sapkowski's inclination to explore unique storylines within The Witcher world.

Fans have been anticipating Sapkowski's next novel, as the last installment, Season of Storms, was released nearly a decade ago. With this new announcement, excitement is building for the continuation of The Witcher saga, and readers worldwide eagerly await the novel's global release in 2025.
