The anime adaptation of Tsutomu Sato's web novel series The Irregular at Magic High School has released a new commercial announcing when it will return for its third season. The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on April 5 at 11:30pm in Japan, and ahead of that, there's an advanced screening set for March 31 at Shinjuku Wald 9 theater, with director Jimmy Stone attending the special screening with Japanese voice cast members Yuichi Nakamura and Saori Hayami.

The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3 was officially confirmed earlier this year, and it's expected to cover three arcs from the source material: Double Seven, Steeplechase, and Ancient City Insurrection. Eight Bit is animating the new season, with Jimmy Stone helming it. Kana Ishida is working on the character designs, while Taku Iwasaki is in charge of the music. The script is written by Muneo Nakamoto.
What is The Irregular at Magic High School is about?
The Irregular at Magic High School series by Tsutomu Sato originally started as a web novel, and it was published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. It was published in light novel format in 2011 by Dengeku Bunko, and each arc of the series also received manga adaptations. The sequel titled The Irregular at Magic High School: Magian Company started in 2020.

The first season of Irregular at Magic High School anime was produced by studio Madhouse, and it broadcasted in Spring 2014, while the Visitor Arc (Season 2) aired in Fall 2020. Eight Bit took over animation duties for Season 2, and the studio also produced the prequel, The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc, which premiered on December 31, 2021. The anime franchise also released a featured film in 2017, titled The Girl Who Summons the Stars (studio 8-bit). A spin-off anime titled The Honor at Magic High School by studio CONNECT aired throughout Summer 2021 anime season.
