The Apothecary Diaries is one of the most popular anime series airing this season, and fans are excited to watch its seventh episode, which is scheduled to premiere on Saturday, December 9 in North America and other regions. TOHO Animation and OLM are in charge of the animation of the romance drama, and today, the official website of the anime has released a preview for Episode 10, which is titled Honey.
The official synopsis of The Apothecary Diaries Episode 10 reads:
A rumor spreads in the palace that the culprit who poisoned Lady Lishu at the garden party was a consort who committed suicide by drowning herself in the moat around the outer palace. However, Jinshi questioned why a servant girl would poison Lady Lishu, and ordered Maomao to investigate the Garnet Palace where the dead courtesan had served. Guided by the head maid, Fengming, Maomao helps with the cleaning. Then, Maomao notices Lady Lishu discreetly observing the Garnet Palace, which leads to the solution of a great mystery.

What is The Apothecary Diaries about?
The anime is based on The Apothecary Diaries (Japanese: Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) light novel series written by Natsu Hyuga and illustrated by Toko Shino. Since 2011, the series has been serialized on Shōsetsuka ni Narō website, and in the following year, Shufunotomo acquired the rights to the series, and published it as a novel iwth a single volume in 2012 and then as a light novel series in 2014. The romance drama is set in a fictional country based on ancient China. The series received a manga adaptation with story by Itsuki Nanao and art by Nekokurage, and it was published by Square Enix, which serialized it in Monthly Big GanGan.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series, and provided the following story description for The Apothecary Diaries:
Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries!
