The fan-favorite Suicide Squad will make their way to another world for a new mission in the latest anime, Suicide Squad ISEKAI. After being announced at Anime Expo 2023, Wit Studio and Warner Bros. Japan are now gearing up for the series’ upcoming release this year. To excite fans even more, the anime has released new character visuals and additional cast members who will join Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, King Shark, and Joker.
The update comes from the X (formerly Twitter) page of DC Japan, revealing the six new characters fans are about to see in Suicide Squad ISEKAI. It shows the familiar faces of Taku Yashiro (To Your Eternity, Chainsaw Man) as Rick Flag, a U.S. Army colonel, special operations forces specialist, and A.R.G.U.S.’s field leader; Kujira (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, Gintama) as Amanda Waller, aka The Wall, she is one the most feared and respected people in the U.S. Government; and Chika Anzai (Grand Blue, Attack on Titan) as Katana, a Japanese samurai who’s a proxy member of the Suicide Squad and Rick Flag’s bodyguard.
The newly announced cast also includes the original Suicide Squad ISEKAI characters, like Reina Ueda as Fione (Solo Leveling, MASHLE: Magic and Muscles), Mamiko Noto (Kimi no Todoke, Golden Kamuy ) as Aldora, and Jun Fukushima (KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!, Monster Strike Anime) as Cecil. Character descriptions for these three are yet to be revealed.

For the main staff, Eri Osada directs the new isekai anime, with Naoto Hosada on character designs. Eiji Umehara and Tappei Nagatsuki work on the screenplay, Kenichiro Suehiro handles the music composition, and Akira Amano (REBORN!) is responsible for the original character designs. Tomoyasu Hotei will perform its opening theme, Another World.
What is Suicide Squad ISEKAI about?
Suicide Squad ISEKAI will see Amanda Waller assembling the most notorious criminals known as the Suicide Squad for a new mission in an otherworldly realm. Compared to the usual problems this group faces, they will be in a world full of swords and magic and fight off orcs and dragons in the skies. The new anime is based on the team of supervillains, the Suicide Squad, by DC Comics. It's produced by Wit Studio and Warner Bros. Japan.
So far, there are no words yet on the exact release date of Suicide Squad ISEKAI, but it’s scheduled for release in 2024. With this new take on the famous DC Comics and this group of supervillains and the fame of isekai anime today, many will surely look forward to this series.
