The High Republic Saga is now on Phase 3 with Trials of the Jedi featuring how much the characters changed in a year since Phase 2.

Star Wars has a narrative that could go on for ages and it continues to expand as the franchise enters into different platforms of media. For one, Star Wars: The High Republic is a project which features the stories of the galaxy far, far away during the titular era spanning from 350 to 50 years before the events of the Skywalker saga and a century after the Old Republic fell. Now, Phase 3 is about to kick-off with art featuring the changes within the fan-favorite characters.

Star Wars: The High Republic Phase 3 is finally arriving with the updated looks of the fan-favorite heroes and villains of the series as StarWars.com unveiled new concept art images for the major players. The characters featured are as follows: Jedi Masters Avar Kriss and Porter Engle, Padawans Bell Zettifar with Ember and Burryaga, Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh, Nihil leader Marchion Ro, and ex-Republic Senator Ghirra Starros. The concept images shared for Star Wars: The High Republic Phase 3 go side by side with the original Phase 1 designs. Avar Kriss and Porter Engle discard their Jedi robes and are now with darker disguises, Bell Zettifar with Ember, sans the dreadlocks, and Burryaga are now with their much armored gear, Vernestra Rwoh rocks her new short hair with her rugged civilian clothes, Marchian Ro dons a more powerful suit, and Ghirra Starros with her sophisticated cloak and more muted look.

What is the Star Wars: The High Republic Phase 3 all about?

Falling within 500 BBY to 100 BBY in the Star Wars timeline, Star Wars: The High Republic features three phases which started in 2021 with the Light of the Jedi and it was immediately succeeded by the Quest of the Jedi in 2022. This year, Star Wars: The High Republic Phase 3 brings in the Trials of the Jedi along with the release of George Mann's novel titled The Eye of Darkness. The events follow the fall of the Starlight Beacon which changed the galaxy far, far away. The villains Marchion Ro and the Nihil succeeded and this results to a mighty Jedi being outclassed and the Republic is down to its knees. Read the official synopsis here:

To hype up the arrival of Star Wars: The High Republic Phase 3, the creative director of Lucasfilm Publishing, Michael Siglain, revealed to StarWars.com:

Our story picks up one year after the fall of Starlight Beacon, and the characters — and their appearances — have to reflect that. The Chancellor's shining symbol of hope has been destroyed. The Jedi have lost and the Nihil have won. Our heroes are dealing with fear and trauma, and are struggling to find a way to bring back light and hope.
