The much-anticipated Star Wars Outlaws was developed by Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment and is set to be the first complete open-world Star Wars video game. The game has promised to feature a wide range of planets for gamers to explore, from the classic returning planets to some entirely new ones created only for Star Wars Outlaws. It’s worth noting that the game’s first looks were widely well-received by fans.
Not only this, but Ubisoft also showcased locations, open-world exploration, engaging dialogue from the game, brand-new locations, and much more. Star Wars Outlaws takes place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi when it was at the height of the Galactic Civil War. From the gameplay reveal, we can tell that protagonist Kay Vess is set to have some exciting encounters with the Empire.
Ubisoft also promised fans that they were going to expand the Star Wars universe in Outlaws and have confirmed the addition of some iconic landscapes, unknown worlds, and multiple planets. Some of these are as follows:
1 Akiva
Akiva was initially featured in Aftermath’s novelization and is an isolated, stifling jungle planet that’s situated in the Outer Rim. Fans will get to see Akiva on-screen for the first time in Star Wars Outlaws. The CIS (Confederacy of Independent Systems) built a massive droid factory beneath the surface of the planet during the Clone Wars.
In Outlaws, the Empire is set to indirectly rule through the Satrapy of Myrra, who will eventually enforce the Empire’s laws and taxes. With the crime lord Surat Nuat and his gang being on the scene in the capital city of Myrra, there’s a high chance that Kay Vess might find some side missions on Akiva.
2 Cantonica
This desert planet was first featured in the novelization of The Legends of Luke Skywalker and later made its first on-screen appearance in the Sequel Trilogy movie The Last Jedi. Cantonica contains within it the casino city Canto Bight, which Rose and Finn once visited. The planet is situated in Outer Rim’s Corporate Sector.
Cantonica was initially home to smugglers and criminals of a wide range who were always seeking a place to lay low. With time, Canto Bight was constructed, and with that, the planet became home to those who were rich and strong. Since the casino is present in Cantonica, there’s a high chance that Kay Vess might take part in some mini-games once she visits.
3 Kijimi
Kijimi is a mountainous planet that’s located in the Mid Rim areas and initially appeared in the Force Collector novelization. Later, it ended up entering The Rise of Skywalker. When the Galactic Empire collapsed, one would only find lawless individuals in Kijimi. In the past, the planet was governed by the Dai Bendu, a religious group.
The Bendu eventually built a monastery in the middle of what later came to be known as Kijimi City. We don’t know much about the state Kijimi was in during the Galactic Empire’s time, but everyone knows that Kijimi’s Spice Runners were operating at that particular time. It’s possible that Kay Vess might encounter the Spice Runners during her visit to the frigid planet.
4 Toshara
Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment developed a new planet called Toshara only for Star Wars Outlaws, which is set to appear for the first time in the Star Wars galaxy. Toshara is a windswept dry moon that’s situated in the Toshaal System in the Outer Rim. From the looks of it, the planet is under Imperial control.
Regardless of the Imperial presence, Toshara is full of syndicates and crime lords. There’s also a settlement called Jaunta’s Hope from where gamers can accept brand-new missions and upgrade their weapons.
5 Tatooine
Tatooine is among some of the most beloved sandy Outer Rim planets to return to the Star Wars universe in an open-world game. The planet first appeared in A New Hope and is the same place where Luke Skywalker encountered Ben Kenobi and began his journey. Tatooine has been frequently featured throughout Star Wars media, the latest in Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures.
The planet is like a desert filled to the brim with criminals, smugglers, and every type of scum one can think of. Ubisoft has confirmed that Kay Vess is going to meet Jabba the Hutt and that Tatooine will be completely explorable in Star Wars Outlaws.
