Lucasfilm is now gearing up for the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Acolyte. After releasing a new official trailer last week, Disney+ Korea dropped a preview focusing on Jedi Master Sol. However, aside from featuring Lee Jung-jae’s transformation as a Force user, it also gives a glimpse of his forthcoming fight against Amandla Stenberg’s Mae.
You can see the preview below:
The new The Acolyte teaser starts with an action-packed scene featuring Mae after announcing that a Jedi was murdered. Sol finally reveals that Mae used to be his student, showing a backstory to when the mysterious character was young and receiving a lightsaber from her Jedi Master. From there, the two finally meet again, igniting a big fight.
“Let me be the one to bring her in,” he says. The next scene features Mae’s fight against Jedi Master Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss) as she declares the time to face the past has come. And just like her battle with Sol, her face-off with Indara is every inch epic. Vernestra Rwoh (Rebecca Henderson) appears, warning that what is happening is just the “small part of a larger plan.”
From there, a man suddenly falls in front of Mother Aniseya’s (Jodie Turner-Smith) coven of witches. For the last sequence, a mysterious Sith Lord gets hold of his red lightsaber. And right after, Sol asks him, “What are you?” the dark figure starts wielding his sword.

Lee Jung-jae Talks About His Role in Star Wars: The Acolyte
Jung-jae is about to make his way to Hollywood in The Acolyte. But though it will only take a month less than a month before this new series hit Disney+, the Squid Game breakout star still can’t believe he manages to be part of an iconic franchise like Star Wars.
“I still can't believe the fact that I'm in Star Wars,” he said, per The Korea Times.
With the series’ mysterious theme, details about the South Korean star’s role remain scarce. However, he finally gives a short character description for Sol, describing him as a “responsible and skilled” Jedi Master who’s “willing to sacrifice everything for peace.”
“Sol often hides his emotions rather than expressing them outwardly,” he continued.
In addition, to perfectly portray his role as a Jedi Master in The Acolyte, Jung-jae revealed that he practiced using swords in South Korea. However, he admitted that holding lightsabers in real life was quite different.
“I practiced quite a bit with swords in Korea, but lightsabers are different,” he added.
What is Star Wars: The Acolyte about?
The Acolyte will follow the story of Jedi Master Sol as he investigates the mysterious killings of Jedi in the Galaxy. He will then go on a journey to find the culprit behind these murders and meet a formidable Jedi warrior from his past, Mae. Despite their conflict, they will work together to find the murderer. However, they will find themselves on a dark path, where evil forces more sinister than they thought are hiding.
