It has been nearly two years since Lucasfilm announced its new project, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, but details about the new series remain under lock and key. Sure, there are several hints on what the show could be, like its theme and cast members, but nothing major is known about it yet. Thankfully, one of the series’ stars, Kerry Condon, has provided a new update about the show, teasing a little about its context and has nothing but high praise for the spinoff series.
In an interview with Variety, Condon talked about her involvement in Skeleton Crew and what it was like working with kids on the scenes. Though she tried her best not to give anything away, the Irish actress couldn’t help but tease how good the new series would be.
“It’s so great,” she said. “I don’t even have kids, but I’d pay to see this. I loved it. I loved being on it.”
The 41-year-old revealed something about the show was so “innocent, playful, and lovely.” And though she had already received a warning from people not to work with kids or animals, she had proven it wasn’t true at all after experiencing how good of actors the kids in the series were.
“And also, when children are good actors, they’re kind of out-of-this-world good,” she continued. “So, watching some of the kids’ scenes, it was amazing.”
Condon also described Skeleton Crew as “really adventurous” and praised each episode’s “great directors,” Daniel Kwan, Daniel Scheinert, Bruce Dallas Howard, Lee Isaac Chung, Jake Schreier, and David Lowery. She called them a “pretty amazing group,” alongside the series creator Jon Watts.

What is Star Wars: Skeleton Crew about?
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set in the same time frame as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and its interconnected spin-offs after the 1983 Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. It’s a coming-of-age story that follows four kids as they make a surprising discovery on their home planet, get lost in the galaxy, and go on an epic adventure to return home.
In an exclusive footage revealed at the Star Wars Celebration, four kids are introduced and composed of a boy, two girls, and a young alien. These children live in a forested world, doing usual things like other kids their age in Amblin-inspired projects. However, a different adventure is about to begin as they go aboard a starship and leave their home planet. They will then end up on Ortolan and meet various creatures and pirates, like Vane, a Nikto scoundrel in The Mandalorian Season 3. Thankfully, they will meet Law’s character, be saved by him, and escape prison.
So far, there are no words for when Skeleton Crew will be released, but DiLiegro assumed it could be out in November on Disney+. So, as Star Wars: The Acolyte will soon hit the streamer, Lucasfilm may next set its eyes on Skeleton Crew and put it under the spotlight.
