The Ahsoka series already established that we will be seeing the remaining Ghost crew members make their live-action debut. However, Dave Filoni had certain expectations from the actors who would be playing the characters from Star Wars Rebels. Mary Elizabeth Winstead has revealed that the showrunner had an important condition before she began filming for the Disney+ series.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead already debuted as the live-action version of Hera Syndulla who played an important role in Star Wars Rebels. The Kate actor had been doing a great job bringing Hera to life and it might have something to do with Dave Filoni's request.
In an interview with Empire magazine, Winstead spoke about her preparations to play the Twi'lek in the series (via The Direct). Interestingly, the 10 Cloverfield Lane actress admitted that Filoni helped her prepare for the live-action show by telling her which Star Wars Rebels episodes to watch.

“Dave gave me a list of episodes and specific scenes," Winstead said. "There was a lot of looking at episodes that focused on how much she loves to fly, and the way that turned on her spirit and her energy.”
It certainly makes sense that Filoni would help Winstead prepare for the role. After all, Hera debuted in the animated series he produced and nobody understands the New Republic general better than him. Although Winstead did not reveal which episodes were listed for her prep, it's safe to say that she watched the series carefully and made sure to insert everything she learned in her performance as Hera.
Will Hera join the search for Thrawn in Ahsoka?
In the latest episode of Ahsoka, Hera tried and failed to get permission to bring a New Republic fleet to Seatos to investigate Morgan Elsbeth's plans. However, she didn't back down quite easily, butting heads with Senator Xiono and reiterating the dangers of the Galactic Empire's plans. Although she didn't get to join Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren in Seatos, we're looking forward to Hera joining the fight and finally bringing Ezra Bridger back.
The first three episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+. For now, the fourth episode has not yet been given an official title. However, Ahsoka Episode 4 is already set to premiere on the streaming service on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
