One of the best things about Ahsoka is how it successfully established a bigger threat on the (Star Wars) universe. By the end of the first season finale, it was confirmed that Grand Admiral Thrawn will be back with the intention to revive the Galactic Empire. But how will The Mandalorian Season 4 fit in the larger storyline? One Ahsoka character could be the key to fixing the problem.
In the timeline of Ahsoka, the New Republic is supposed to hold the position of the most dominant government in the galaxy. However, it appears that numerous Star Wars TV shows are shedding light on its apparent weaknesses. The Mandalorian illustrated how the New Republic started to dismantle and neglect its military resources, seemingly disregarding threats like Moff Gideon. Similarly, Ahsoka reveals the New Republic's tendency to turn a blind eye to menacing adversaries, such as Grand Admiral Thrawn's resurgence.

For now, Din Djarin and Grogu are unaffected by the implications of Thrawn's return. After all, Djarin is just an independent contractor who wants to enjoy life with his newly adopted child. However, they will undoubtedly need to join the fight to save the galaxy. And who better to invite them into the fold than a familiar face?
Carson Teva Could Need Help Convincing Din Djarin to Join the New Republic
A familiar character, Carson Teva, made a cameo appearance in Ahsoka, which marked Paul Sun-Hyung Lee's third appearance in the Star Wars universe as the same character. While Carson is a beloved character and a welcome face, it seems as though he might be the only X-wing pilot representing the New Republic. It's as if Carson has a knack for gravitating toward action, and he often appears as the sole representative of the New Republic who pays heed to the protagonists, like Din Djarin or Hera Syndulla. This recurring presence implies a potential staffing shortage within the New Republic.
Considering that Hera Syndulla holds the rank of General within the New Republic, it would be entirely logical for her to have authority over Adelphi Base. This could account for Carson's willingness to join her unsanctioned mission to Seatos and his presence during her hearing. If Carson serves as Hera's second-in-command, his tendency to question the New Republic's questionable decisions might be a trait he adopted from his commanding officer, Hera.

Furthermore, it makes even more sense for Hera to lead the Adelphi Rangers, given her close relationship with her old friend Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios, a member of the Adelphi squadron. Zeb was one of the founding members of Hera's Ghost crew and made his live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 3 where he rendezvoused with Carson Teva at Adelphi Base. After establishing a society for his people, it's entirely plausible that Zeb rejoined Hera's crew, becoming one of her pilots in the New Republic. Perhaps the same thing could happen to Din.
Din Djarin getting a personal invite from Hera would be awesome and it would make his part in the fight a bit more formal. Either way, it would officially bring the big fight into The Mandalorian Season 4, but we'll have to wait a little longer to get an official announcement about the show's renewal.
