Hayden Christensen has set a footing in the entertainment world when he played the role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise, starting in the prequel trilogy films. He was first seen as the legendary “Chosen One” in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones in 2002, followed by Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith in 2005, and since then, his name has been attached to the series. So, after reprising his role in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi in 2022 and Ahsoka in 2023, the Canadian actor expresses his interest in returning to the franchise and continuing to play the Dark Lord of the Sith.
In an interview with The Dagobah Dispatch podcast, Entertainment Weekly‘s Star Wars-themed podcast,
Christensen revealed that he would love to get to do more of the franchise. “I would love to get to continue with Star Wars,” he said. However, as there’s no Star Wars project yet on the horizon, just like fans, he, too, doesn’t know what the future may bring. “We’ll see,” he continued.
But if such an opportunity arises, the 42-year-old will be ready to grab it. “I'll be there with a big smile on my face,” he added. However, if it doesn’t happen, he already feels grateful that he gets the chance to reprise his role in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka.
Hayden Christensen Reveals Excitement Doing Lightsaber Sequences in Ahsoka
In the same interview, Christensen also discussed his excitement over doing lightsaber sequences in Ahsoka a year after reprising his role as Anakin in Obi-Wan Kenobi. He admitted to feeling a child-like glee when he saw the series’ script and learned he would be holding a lightsaber again.
“Any chance I get to swing a lightsaber is an awesome opportunity,” he revealed.
The Last Man star added that he was like a “giddy little boy” when he read the fifth episode’s script for the first time. After wielding a lightsaber for the first time in 2002, he was excited to do “all this awesome action” again.
Due to his excitement, Christensen shared that he couldn’t even sit down and was pacing the room reading the script. He also remembered texting the series creator, Dave Filoni, halfway through to thank him profusely.
Disney+ has yet to renew Ahsoka for a second season, but fans remain hopeful for it. If this happens, viewers are looking forward to seeing Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker again to guide Ahsoka in her journey.
