Ahsoka Season 2 has yet to get the official confirmation from Lucasfilm, but according to a reputable scooper, the fan-favorite Star Wars series will be renewed.
The eight-episode first season of Ahsoka concluded with its titular hero (played by Rosario Dawson) stranded in a different galaxy with Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo). The ruthless Grand Admiral Thrawn is also on the move as he managed to escape the distant galaxy and return to the main setting of Star Wars, determined to rebuild the Galactic Empire. While fans are excited to see what will happen next, Lucasfilm hasn't renewed Ahsoka for a second season, at least not publicly.
A reliable scooper who goes by MyTimeToShineHello claims that Ahsoka Season 2 is "a go.". As of the night on October 30, this news is still unverified by Disney or Lucasfilm. However, the scooper has a built a strong reputation for being a reliable source and has a solid track record. Just like with any other rumors, fans should take this with a grain of salt until we get an official update from Lucasfilm or Disney.
Earlier this month, Deadline reported that Ahsoka Season 2 is actually "more of a reality in conversation at Lucasfilm and Disney." Ahsoka, which is part of the MandoVerse - an interconnected Star Wars narrative on Disney+, wasn't guaranteed a second season, but it's possible the conclusion of the Rosario Dawson-led series could have been reserved for another connected series or Dave Filoni's upcoming MandoVerse film and in which Thrawn is expected to be the main antagonist.
One likely reason there isn't an official update on Ahsoka Season 2 is the ongoing actors' strike. Unless the cast of Ahsoka reached an agreement to return for more Star Wars projects before the strike began, the actors cannot start signing for a second season until the strike is over.
Is Ahsoka Season 2 coming out before Dave Filoni's Star Wars movie?
When Deadline published a recap of the Ahsoka season finale, The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord, they shared a note about what the future holds in store for Dave Filoni, the showrunner of the series. Deadline wrote:
Based on this, the second season of Ahsoka would be released before Dave Filoni's theatrical movie, which makes so much sense, considering how the story wrapped up. However, Lucasfilm and Disney haven't confirmed Season 2 yet, so things are still up in the air.
