It has been three months since the first season of Star Wars: Ahsoka ended, but the series has yet to receive a second season renewal. As fans patiently wait for this big news, remaining hopeful that Ahsoka Tano’s story will continue, the show’s main star, Rosario Dawson, gives a disappointing update.

In an interview with the Dagobah Dispatch podcast, Dawson revealed that no talks were happening about Ahsoka Season 2. When asked about a second-season discussion, she simply said, “No,” and discussed the cast’s supposed meeting instead.

“We're supposed to be having a dinner soon of the whole cast, which will be really nice because I haven't seen everyone,” she said. “I was very jealous seeing everyone at some of their cons recently, which I wasn't able to be at.”

Dawson and several other cast members have expressed their interest in continuing the series for another season, but nothing has come to fruition yet. It has been known that the show’s creator, Dave Filoni, has been working on a movie that will tie into the events of Ahsoka, but nothing has been said about the Disney+ series so far.

Will there be Ahsoka Season 2?

The first season ended with a major cliffhanger, hinting at a future battle against the notorious Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). Hence, it only means that Ashoka’s adventure has yet to come to an end, and it’s poised to continue—whether on the big or small screen.

Though Lucasfilm has yet to officially greenlight Ahsoka Season 2, a reliable source confirmed it would be a “go.” X (formerly Twitter) user MyTimeToShineHello, a reputable scooper, revealed in October 2023 that the show would receive a second season, though he didn’t give further details about it.

MyTimeToShineHello has a solid track record of making accurate predictions, making him a credible source. However, fans should take this assumption with a grain of salt, as neither Lucasfilm nor Disney has confirmed the claim.

In addition, Filoni himself teased the possibility of Ahsoka Season 2. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunner admitted that he had set up “several threads” that could continue, and there was “always a plan.”

“I hope one day we’ll see it. It could be very cool, but it took a while to get [Ahsoka] done, so you never know,” he said. He even quoted Yoda’s words in The Empire Strikes Back, adding, “Always in motion is the future.”
