Second chances are quite rare in this industry and usually, after cancelations, the road ends there. Thankfully, this is not the case for Star Wars: Prodigy as the series has been taken in and given another shot on Netflix. The streaming platform announces their Christmas treat to all as Season 1 of the series will be having its premiere date and debut on the streamer this holiday season.

The animated series will be coming out on exactly December 25, 2023 with the first season before the second one arrives. There is no release date yet for Season 2 but hey, Netflix breathed new life for the series and that, in itself, is enough!
Netflix made the official announcement of the release date of Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1 on the streaming platform through their official X (formerly Twitter) account during the annual Geeked Week event. Check it out below:
What is Star Trek: Prodigy about?
Star Trek: Prodigy is the tenth series of the beloved franchise which expands the audience of Star Trek to the younger audience and on top of that, it is the very first 3D animated series of the title. Star Trek: Prodigy is set on the abandoned starship Protostar as it takes a group of young aliens take their adventure of a lifetime during the 24th century as they proceed from the Delta Quadrant to the Alpha Quadrant. This is five years from the time that the USS Voyager came back to Earth from the events of Star Trek: Voyager.
Star Trek: Prodigy was first released through Paramount+ in 2021 before it came out on Nickelodeon in 2022. The first season is composed of 10 episodes and it was supposed to have its second season on the same platform in 2023 but was canceled in June. After its cancelation, the series was also taken away from the streaming platform. Thankfully, Star Trek: Prodigy was saved by Netflix for its second season and to give the viewers a preview on what to expect from the series, Season 1 just landed its release date.
