After two weeks of running and nine episodes of rigorous and heartbreaking challenges, Squid Game: The Challenge is now down to its final episode, titled One Lucky Day. Only three players are left out of the 456 contenders who tried their luck to win the grand prize of $4.56 million, which is Netflix’s biggest pot money in TV history. Now, the streamer has dropped the official trailer for the show’s finale, giving a glimpse of the final battle called Squid Game. And true to the reality series theme, it reveals no one can trust anyone. You can watch the preview below:
The Squid Game: The Challenge trailer plays a recap of the previous games and the fan-favorite players, like the mother-and-son duo Players 301 and 302. As the board of contenders continuously decreases, the images of the remaining three players, Players 016 (Sam), 287 (Mai), and 451 (Phill), are revealed. Like in the original show, Hwang Dong Hyuk’s Squid Game, on which the series is based, the last three players are treated to a lavish dinner before starting the final game.
“It’s a pack of wolves trying to get a piece of meat,” a woman says. “Money changes people sometimes,” a man adds. As Player 451 claims the game has gotten into Player 287, the latter claims she can’t trust anyone in the show.
As they again prepare for their last battle, Player 451 claims the money hasn’t felt real until now. From there, the final game, Squid Game, where players will try to hop over into the opponent’s home base in a diagram that looks like a squid, is revealed. “This could be the biggest moment of my life,” Player 451 continues.
