The much-awaited Squid Game Season 2 is finally shaping up. Little details about the global hit’s return are now coming to light. After the release of its first look when Netflix dropped its slate of new Korean TV shows and movies coming in 2024, the streamer’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos made a big tease, revealing the second season would be mind-blowing, during a visit to South Korea.
Sarandos was in Seoul over the weekend to connect with the creators of Netflix’s K-content lineup. Of course, this trip would never be complete without visiting the set of one of the most anticipated series of 2024, Squid Game Season 2. Though the streamer’s boss was very careful not to say anything about the new season, he revealed what fans could expect.
“I can say the new games will blow your mind,” he said via Netflix. “I was thrilled by the scale of the sets.”
He then went on to praise the series director, Hwang Dong-hyuk, for his vision, which he called a “powerful example” of how Korean content and other non-English titles could be locally authentic while finding new audiences internationally on Netflix. While in the country, he also met President Yoon Suk Yeol and the Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae.
