The Forger family is back for a new mission in Spy x Family Season 2. The anime has dropped a new trailer for the series' return and gives a glimpse of the spontaneous Anya following her father, Loid, while he goes on his undercover agent duty. The preview also features the new opening and ending theme songs.
Based on the manga series by Tatsuya Endo, Spy x Family has become one of the best-selling manga series, with over 31 million copies in circulation as of September 2023. Many have praised this acclaimed franchise for its great storytelling, humor, and artwork. Hence, it’s no surprise that Wit Studio and CloverWorks adapted its tale into anime, which premiered in April and ended in December 2022. And after just about a year, Spy x Family Season 2 is about to come, followed by the anime movie Spy x Family Code: White.
The anime’s official website has released the official trailer for the upcoming new season, starting with the father-and-daughter bond of Loid and Anya. Anya asks her father if she can watch anime while he’s watching the news; as he says no, she tries to give him the saddest face that makes her win.
The next scene then sees Loid asking Yor for a date, which surprises the latter. They then go to a lavish dinner, but Anya wants to follow her mom and dad as they go on this important mission. Later, Yor tells Loid she wants to help him. From there, everything turns serious when a customer arrives, and a glimpse of the Garden Assassins Syndicate is seen.

The anime’s website has also unveiled the new opening and ending theme songs for Spy x Family Season 2. Ado sings the opening theme, Kura Kura, while Vaundy handles the ending music, Todome no Ichige feat Cory Wong.
What is Spy x Family Season 2 about?
Though the official synopsis of Spy x Family Season 2 is yet to be revealed, it will reportedly adapt the Imperial Scholars Mixer Arc and Cruise Adventure Arc. This claim was even heightened after the anime unveiled the key visual for the new season, showing the spy family in front of a ship while Anya and her classmates are seen before the Eden Academy.
Imperial Scholars Mixer Arc is the ninth story arc of the series, which sees Damian meeting his reclusive and distant father. However, despite the rare chance that these two meet, Twilight has his own plans to intervene.
Alternatively, the Cruise Adventure Arc, the tenth story arc, features Yor on a mission to protect Olka Gretcher and her son from a group of skilled assassins while aboard a cruise ship. And in a random twist of fate, Anya and Loid won giveaway tickets to board the same boat, leaving Yor to doubt her life as an assassin.
When is the Spy x Family Season 2 release date?
Spy x Family Season 2 will finally be released on October 7 at 11 PM JST in Japan. It can also be seen on AT-X on October 10, Animax on October 28, TV Wakayama on October 19, and Tulip TV on October 20. Its international release date is yet to be announced.
