The Forger family will soon grace the small screens with the nearing release of Spy x Family Season 2. After being announced at the Jump Festa ’23 in December 2022, the new season is coming to fruition as the anime has revealed a new key visual and even confirmed its release date.
Based on the Japanese manga series of the same name by Tatsuya Endo, Spy x Family follows the story of a spy, Loid Forger, who needs to build a family of his own to fulfill a mission, not knowing the girl he adopts is a telepath and the woman he marries is a skilled assassin. The manga just started in 2019, but it already has over 30 million copies in circulation as of March 2023, making it one of the best-selling manga series of today. With its success, Wit Studio and CloverWorks adapted it into anime, premiering in April 2022. And now, Spy x Family Season 2 will begin soon.
The anime’s official website has dropped some major updates about the upcoming season. One of them is the new season’s key visual, featuring the spy family, the Wise agents Sylvia and Fiona, and others like Franky and Yuri. This part of the still is illustrated before a ship, hinting at its upcoming story arc, Cruise Adventure Arc.
As the preview mirrors each other upside down, the other side features Anya and her classmates, Becky, Damian, Emile, and Ewen, alongside Henry and the Forger family’s dog, Bond. This time, they are in front of the Eden Academy, seemingly suggesting continuing the remaining story from the Imperial Scholars Mixer Arc.

In the Cruise Adventure arc, Yor, a.k.a. Thorn Princess, accepts a job to protect a client and the client's son from a dangerous group of assassins aboard a cruise ship called Princess Lorelai. However, Anya and Loid also won tickets to ride the same ship, so Yor must conceal her true identity while trying to protect her client.
When is the Spy x Family Season 2 release date?
Alternatively, the anime’s website has also announced Spy x Family Season 2’s official release date, which will be on October 7 at 11 PM JST in Japan. It will also be seen on AT-X on October 10 and Animax on October 28. Its international release date on Crunchyroll is yet to be announced.
With this new exciting news, fans can’t help but be more eager to see the upcoming Spy x Family Season 2. Surely, the adaptation of the said arcs will be epic.
