There's a new Anya Forger in town, at least for now. Spy x Family revealed the new voice actor taking over the role of the youngest Forger family member as Megan Shipman takes a temporary break.

On October 26, the official English dub account for Spy x Family announced that Bryn Apprill would be filling in as the temporary voice actor for Anya Forger, as Megan Shipman, who usually provides the character's English voice, is on maternity leave. The account did not indicate how long Apprill will take over the role.

Shipman also celebrated Apprill's casting. The original Anya English dub voice actor retweeted the original announcement and expressed her gratitude to Apprill and the rest of the English voice-acting team. She also thanked them for helping her organize her temporary maternity leave and allowing her to enjoy motherhood.

Bryn Apprill has portrayed various characters in well-known anime series. She lent her voice to Christa Renz/Historia Reiss in the English dub of Attack on Titan. Additionally, she portrayed Nagisa Kashiwagi in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Ibara Shiozaki in My Hero Academia. Interestingly, Apprill previously worked on the first season of Spy x Family, temporarily replacing Lindsay Seidel as Fiona Frost in one episode.

Besides her role as Anya Forger, Megan Shipman is recognized for her portrayal of Norea Du Noc in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, Grey in Black Clover, and Mare Bella Fiore in Overlord. She gave birth to her first child on October 24, 2023.

What's in store for Spy x Family After Season 2?

The highly-anticipated second season of Spy x Family started airing in early October, immersing viewers back into the charmingly quirky world of the Forger family. Although Season 2 has half as many episodes as the previous installment, Spy x Family has more exciting projects in the pipeline.

The franchise's first animated film, Spy x Family: Code White, will explore an original side-story where the Forger family embarks on a quest to obtain a special dessert for Anya's headmaster. During this adventure, Anya's actions inadvertently set off a chain of events that could potentially reignite the conflict between Westalis and Ostania. The film is scheduled to premiere in Japan on December 22, 2023.
