Spirit Circle Anime Reveals Main Cast and First Teaser Trailer

A grudge carried across lifetimes is about to catch up with Fuuta when Spirit Circle brings its reincarnation battle to television.

A transfer student is coming to kill a boy she has hated across several lifetimes. The Spirit Circle manga is officially getting a television anime, announced through the official website of Spirit Circle with a first teaser trailer, a teaser visual, the main cast and an 18-episode run confirmed in a single reveal.

REMOW announced the 18-episode adaptation of Satoshi Mizukami's manga, which will air in Japan and stream globally. The series follows Fuuta Okeya, a 14-year-old boy who can see ghosts, and Kouko Ishigami, the transfer student whose arrival turns his quiet school life into a fight rooted in their past lives.

The teaser trailer leans into Kouko's threat, carrying the tagline "No Matter How Many Times I'm Reborn, I'll Come to KILL You." Its footage introduces Fuuta and the strange mark hidden beneath the bandage on his cheek, the detail that makes Kouko denounce him as her enemy.

A teaser visual was released with the announcement as well. The visual puts Fuuta and Kouko at the center of the series' first art, pairing the boy who sees spirits with the girl who has sworn to end his soul's cycle of reincarnation.

The announced cast includes:

  • Kazuki Ura (Yoichi Isagi in Blue Lock) as Fuuta Okeya

  • Anna Nagase (Riko Amanai in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Kouko Ishigami

  • Eri Yukimura (Cayna in In the Land of Leadale) as Rune

  • Yuichi Nakamura (Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen) as East

Ura also voices Fuuta's past lives, including Fon, Van and Furou, while Nagase voices Kouko's past lives, including Stona and Loca. The dual casting underlines the story's structure, with the same two souls colliding again and again under different names and in different eras.

Tatsuo Sato serves as director and series composer, in what became his final work before his death in April 2026. Kentaro Mizuno serves as assistant director, Satoru Fujimoto handles character design, and NAGOMI and EOTA co-produce the animation, with TWIN ENGINE producing the series.

Production continued under Mizuno and the rest of the staff after Sato's passing, and the finished series carries his direction forward. Anna Nagase also performs the ending theme, Koko ga Donna Sekai demo, marking her first solo vocal performance.

What is Spirit Circle about?

Spirit Circle is a supernatural fantasy and drama manga by Satoshi Mizukami, who also created Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer and Planet With. The manga was serialized in Shonengahosha's Young King OURs magazine from 2012 to 2016 and concluded with six volumes, while Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the series in English in print and Crunchyroll Manga previously offered it digitally.

The story begins when Fuuta Okeya, a middle school student who can see spirits, meets a mysterious transfer student named Kouko Ishigami. Fuuta's peaceful school life takes an unexpected turn when Kouko suddenly attempts to kill him. The reason lies in a fateful connection between the two that stretches back to their past lives. Determined to uncover the truth, Fuuta uses the "Spirit Circle," a mysterious device that allows him to relive his previous lives. His journey takes him across multiple lifetimes, from ancient civilizations to the future, as he explores the memories of his soul. As Fuuta and Kouko repeatedly find themselves in conflict across different eras and identities, can they finally put an end to the cycle that binds them? And what answer awaits them at the end of their journey? An epic drama woven from the intertwined destinies of two souls is about to begin.
