1 Hellbound (2021)

Set in 2022 to 2027 in South Korea, Hellbround brings you to the end of time in six terrifying episodes! As prophecies are given out, a group of otherworldly beings called as the decrees starts slaughtering and dragging everyone to hell. A new religion arises called as the "Saejinrihwe," to bring about righteousness.

Hellbound is divided into two parts. The first three episodes follow a detective investigating the supernatural events happening around. The last three episodes take place five years after the first part wherein a couple struggles with the fact that their newborn child is about to be taken to hell.

Zombies are a thing of their own and they radiate a chilling sense of dread and fear among everyone while at the same time, excite the viewers. The post-apocalyptic zombie series All of Us Are Dead emulates a different kind of group project as each of their lives depend on it. Also, kids trapped in the school with a field full of zombies have that additional thriller effect because how would they survive, right?

All of Us Are Dead follows a group of high school students who gets stuck in Hyosan High School in the middle of a zombie outbreak. With limited food and supplies, the students have to scour resources available without being the zombie's lunch. The first season of the show has 12 episodes. It has been officially renewed with All of Us Are Dead Season 2 and fans of the series cannot wait to see the group once more.

The truth can, sometimes, be the scariest. The Guest challenges one's perspective about the power of the beyond. In a twisted turn of events, everything is connected. The show follows a psychic, a priest, and a detective who all share the same supernatural ability of seeing ghosts. Through this similarity, they work on a case and later on, unravel the truth.

The Guest is about shamanism and exorcism. The show has a total 16 thrilling episodes. The series stars Kim Dong-wook, Kim Jae-ek, Jung Eun-chae, and An Nae-sang.

4 Sweet Home (2020)

Post-apocalyptic themes have a certain scare of what the future could possibly be and that's horrifying enough to think about. Sweet Home is another apocalyptic show on Netflix that will surely bring you the chills. The series is 10 episodes long, with a second season underway before this year ends. The final season is also in production.

Sweet Home follows Cha Hyun-soo who is just recovering from an unexpected family tragedy, and to move on, he moves into an apartment. Not long after, monsters started lurking and the tenants became trapped in their units. They need to work together, albeit living in separate units, to have a chance at survival.

5 Kingdom (2019)

Usually, zombies come out in the present or some time in the future but this is where Kingdom stands out because it is a period piece! Set during the Joseon Dynasty, around 1600s, Kingdom follows the Crown Prince Lee Chang and his people who encountered an uncanny plague where the dead gets resurrected while in the middle of an investigation of who killed the king. Preventing the plague to spread beyond Sangju, they struggle as they find out that the plague already spread into the provinces.

With two seasons and 13 episodes in total, including a special release, Kingdom delivers a different take on zombies in a plague-like horror that terrifies everyone around. Imagine the weapons back then?

6 Nightmare Teacher (2016)

Also known as Nightmare High, the series consists of 12 episodes following the arrival of a new substitute teacher after the homeroom teacher of the children was hospitalized. Mystery embraces the real identity of the new substitute and strange events started to happen to all the students who enters the counseling room where the substitute is. The class president, Ye-Rim, starts to notice the uncanny occurrences and takes the investigation to a whole new level.

Nightmare Teacher brings the horror of the unknown in a mystery hunt for the truth. The uneasy feeling of people disappearing while someone new arrived is something to look forward to when watching this show.

7 Goedam (2020)

Netflix brings in Goedam, a Korean horror anthology, with short episodes running around 10 minutes, more or less, of about the scary urban legends from all across Asia. There are eight episodes laid out like a scary movie divided into parts.

8 #Alive (2020)

What would you do if suddenly, one day, flesh-eating zombies start attacking everyone outside and you're all alone? That is the struggle of Oh Joon-Woo in #Alive. There's the lingering fear of how to survive in the midst of all the chaos and at the same time, the choice whether to stay inside and die from hunger, or fight outside and risk being eaten by the zombies. The Korean Drama movie runs around 100 minutes.
