Over the years, many video games in the Star Wars franchise have been re-released on modern platforms. Now, it seems a popular 2002 Star Wars game will be coming back soon on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. According to the websitePSDeals, a now removed PlayStation Store listing for Star Wars: The Clone Wars was found by Gematsu, and it's reportedly coming on June 11.
The listing notes that the game will feature some modern improvements, including quick save, up-rendering, custom video filters, and rewind. Given the release date next month, will likely launch into the Classics Catalog titles as part of the June PS Plus lineup. However, nothing has been officially confirmed at this time.
What is Star Wars: The Clone Wars game about?
Developed by Pandemic Studios and published by LucasArts for PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox across 2002 and 2003, Star Wars: The Clone Wars was one of the various games released following the theatrical debut of Star Wars: Episode II - Attack on the Clones. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter was also released that year, and it has been available on the PlayStation Store for a while now, but this would be the first time Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been released for a second time.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is considered something of a sequel to Attack of the Clones. The game features vehicular combat and third-person action, putting players in the shoes of three different Jedi characters: Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mace Windu.
