Daredevil has officially been brought back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and people are loving his appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. However, stuntman Chris Brewster isn't impressed with Matt Murdock's comeback and is slamming the character's role in the Disney+ series.

Chris Brewster is one person who knows Daredevil intimately. He served as the stuntman to Charlie Cox in the original Netflix series and is credited for helping make the character look tough, gritty, and dangerous on the show.

Interestingly, Brewster claims that the MCU is destroying Daredevil's tough-guy image. In a recent episode of the Ikuzu Unscripted podcast, the Captain America: The Winter Soldier stuntman pointed out that She-Hulk didn't give the character the justice he deserves.

"I think that, now that the MCU has taken over the character, I think they are really, really hurting it," Brewster said. "If you watch She-Hulk, they turned Daredevil into a cartoon. It's all animated and it looks bad."

He went on to compare how the Netflix show relied on practical effects while the Disney+ series made use of CGI to enhance the character.

"You know, I love CG to enhance real movement, but if you don't have any real movement, it just becomes a cartoon. It's just CG and there's no weight to it," Brewster stated.

"What always made the action on Daredevil so good is it was visceral," he continued. "You felt what Charlie was feeling, between his performance and being in there, in the action."

It certainly sounds like Chris Brewster was not asked to return for She-Hulk and is unlikely to return as Charlie Cox's stuntman in the Disney+ reboot Daredevil: Born Again. Nevertheless, we're looking forward to seeing Matt Murdock in action all over again in the future.

Daredevil: Born Again will consist of 18 episodes in its first season and is already expected to premiere on Disney+ in early 2024.
