One-Punch Man Season 3 Part 2 Trailer Sets the Stage for Saitama vs. Garou

The Hero Association vs. Monster Association war isn't over — and One-Punch Man's return is building to its biggest fight yet.

The wait finally has a date. Nearly a year after its divisive Season 3 premiere, One-Punch Man will return in January 2027 with Part 2 — and a new trailer shows the war between the Hero Association and the Monster Association raging on.

Bandai Namco Filmworks announced the January 2027 premiere window at New York Comic Con 2026, where the first trailer for One-Punch Man Season 3 Part 2 debuted. VIZ has released the trailer on its official YouTube channel.

J.C.Staff returns to handle animation for the second half of Season 3, with Shinpei Nagai back as director. The trailer confirms the story continues the Hero Association's all-out conflict with the Monster Association, and Japanese anison band JAM Project returns to perform the opening theme, Never Done - SUPREME POWER VS ULTIMATE FEAR -.

The announcement arrives after a turbulent year for the franchise. Season 3 Part 1, which concluded in December 2025, drew harsh criticism from fans over its animation quality following the studio transition from Madhouse to J.C.Staff. Nagai himself acknowledged the frustration in a candid post on X, writing, "It probably won't measure up to Season 1, but the anime is infused with the creators' tenacity and ingenuity." He later deleted his social media accounts in October 2025 amid sustained harassment of the production staff.

The new key visual focuses on the aftermath of the battle between the Hero Association and the Monster Association. Part 1 ended with Episode 12, Ultimate Lifeform, on a cliffhanger built around the appearance of Monster King Orochi — and the new footage strongly hints that Saitama's long-awaited clash with Garou will take center stage in Part 2.

What is One-Punch Man about?

One-Punch Man began as a webcomic by ONE, later remade into a manga illustrated by Yusuke Murata and serialized in Tonari no Young Jump. VIZ Media publishes the manga in English. The anime's first season, produced by Madhouse in 2015, earned worldwide acclaim for its animation; J.C.Staff took over starting with Season 2 in 2019.

Saitama started out being a hero just for fun. After three years of "special" training, he became so powerful that he can defeat opponents with a single punch. Now, alongside Genos, his faithful cyborg disciple, Saitama is ready to begin his official duties as a professional hero working with the Hero Association. However, the frequency of monster appearances is surging and it increasingly appears as if the Great Seer Madame Shibabawa's prediction about the Earth's doom is coming true. In the midst of this crisis, the "hero hunter" Garou makes his own appearance.
