Netflix officially announced today that their live-action One Piece series, based on the long-running manga by Eiichiro Oda, has been renewed for Season 2, continuing the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), Nami (Emily Rudd), Zoro (Mackenyu), Sanji (Taz Skylar), and Usopp (Jacob Romero), as they venture their way to the Grand Line in search of the mysterious One Piece treasure.
The renewal of Netlfix's hit adventure series came courtesy of Oda-san himself — via Transponder Snail — who thanked both long-time fans of his popular manga/anime franchise and fans who just discovered One Piece after watching Netflix's critically-acclaimed live-action series, before announcing that Netflix decided to renew the show to continue the adventures of the Straw Hats pirates. Based on what he said in the video, it sounds like Oda will remain involved with the series, so it looks like fans still have high hopes for what to expect in the next season.

With ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes effectively bringing the entertainment industry to a standstill in the battle for better treatment, it's still too early to expect any official information from Netflix about the second season of One Piece live-action, but thankfully, Oda did not leave fans with nothing. The acclaimed mangaka concluded his message acknowledging that the scripts were not quite ready yet, while teasing that the crew just might be needing a doctor then shows himself drawing a beloved character that fans of the manga/anime know. That's right, Tony Tony Chopper will make his anticipated debut in Netflix's One Piece Season 2!
The first season also ended on a dark, smoke-filled cliffhanger, teasing the arrival of Baroque Works in Season 2. For those unfamiliar, the Baroque Works is a criminal organization created by the Warlord Crocodile to destabilize and conquer the Arabasta Kingdom.
Created in partnership with Shueisha, the live-action One Piece is produced by Netflix and Tomorrow Studios. Steven Maeda and Matt Owens are showrunners, executive producers, and writers. Becky Clements, Marty Adelstein, and Eiichiro Oda also serve as executive producers.
