It looks like Miles Morales will NOT be swinging back into theaters next year. The highly anticipated Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was recently put on indefinite hold as Sony Pictures decided to delay several projects after the writers' and actors' strikes. But now, producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have finally shared a new release window for Spider-Verse 3.

We already know that there will be three Spider-Verse films and it has been confirmed that the sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in March 2024. However, fans were skeptical about the idea that the third movie would be completed in time for its release next year. It didn't take long before Sony Pictures revealed that the animated sequel will be delayed indefinitely due to the WGA writers' strike as well as the SAG-AFTRA actors' strike.

But when exactly can we expect to see Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse? Producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller recently spoke to Digital Spy and although they couldn't confirm exactly when the Across the Spider-Verse sequel will be dropped, they confirmed that it will be released "when it is ready".

"Those conversations are thankfully above our paygrade, but I can tell you we're already hard at work on it, and we'll take the time it takes to make it great," Lord said.

Miller added that they have big plans for Beyond the Spider-Verse and that the producers promise that it will be truly worth the wait.

"What we're trying to accomplish with the film is have it be the most satisfying conclusion to the story than it can be, and take it to places that you haven’t been before. And make you laugh and cry, and cheer and think," he said.

It is sad to know that we will not be able to catch up with Miles Morales next year. However, it is also great news since it means the creative team will have more time to perfect the third film. With that in mind, we can't wait to get some new updates on Beyond the Spider-Verse soon.
