The PlayStation State of Play last Thursday shared a look at the updated version of Marvel's New York City inside Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and over the weekend, they released brand-new Spider-Man 2 gameplay featuring an intense fight against one of the confirmed villains in the game.
The official Marvel's Spider-Man 2 gameplay clip shared by PlayStation revealed a new look at Peter Parker's Spider-Man fighting Lizard a.k.a. Dr. Curtis Connors. The face-off shows the abilities of Parker's symbiote suit as he tries to stop Lizard. This gameplay shows the darker side of Parker, and we'll likely see the symbiote suit take over his personality in the story.

Symbiote Suit Abilities
As previously shown in gameplay trailers and the latest clip, Peter Parker's symbiote abilities are pretty powerful offensive attacks. One ability allows him to launch huge tendrils at enemies from a distance, immediately incapacitating them.
Another ability turns Peter into a spiked symbiote ball, and one of the gameplay videos shows him dash into a group of enemies, and launch them into the air for a fast combo. Peter is also seen using the symbiote suit defensively, using it to quickly block and parry an oncoming attack. The most powerful of Peter's symbiote abilities allows him to grab multiple enemies with tendrils at once, and slam them into the ground.
All of these abilities seem exclusive to Peter while he's in this dark and powerful form, but at this point, it's unclear if it'll have limits and consequences, and whether or not he will end up losing it. We'll likely see Peter use a different suit and gain other powerful abilities such as the mechanical arms previously seen in the tiny bit of gameplay footage within Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
