One Piece Season 2 has yet to begin its production, but fans are now making their list of possible actors who can play the roles of the new characters in the new season. After launching a campaign to have Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Kureha, they wanted this new actor to be Portgas D. Ace.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), an actor named Lucas Amorim shared photos of himself dressed as the Fire First Ace. And by the looks of it, he perfectly nails the character with his straw hat, huge red-bead necklace, thick eyebrows, long hair, and tattoo. Fans even lobby this actor, with one follower commenting, “Ace literally.” To get the people's attention (and probably the producers), he used several hashtags, including #LucasForAce.
Amorim is a relatively new actor. Born in Brazil, he has mostly lived in Italy and England and started his career at the Wolf Maya Acting School in 2019. He has starred in the plays O bem amado, Adulterios, Jardim de inverno, and Revolucionary Road and the movies Razoes, Cabarte, and Vocacelli.
Will Ace appear in One Piece Season 2?
Though Netflix has yet to confirm the other new characters coming in One Piece Season 2 aside from Tony Tony Chopper, there’s a big possibility that Ace will be in it. As one of the most popular characters in the series, there’s a big anticipation for his appearance in the live-action. The second season is expected to adapt the second saga, Arabasta Saga, of Eiichiro Oda’s manga/anime. Ace first appeared in the Arabasta Arc, the fifth and last story arc of the said saga.
Hence, he may be introduced in the latter part of the second season. However, there’s also a possibility that the next installment may end before the Arabasta Arc happens, just like what happened in the first season, leaving Loguetown Arc, the last arc of the East Blue Saga, unadapted and continuing in the second season. But fans should take this assumption with a grain of salt, as nothing is confirmed yet.
For starters, Ace is the son of the late Pirate King Gol D. Roger and the sworn brother of Luffy after being adopted by the latter's father, Monkey D. Garp. He used to be the captain of the Spade Pirates before he was recruited into the Whitebeard Pirates, becoming its second division commander. His ability comes from Mera Mera no Mi, which lets him manipulate and transform into flames.
One Piece Season 2 has yet to begin production as the SAG-AFTRA strike continues. Hence, it may take a little while before Netflix finally confirms the new actors joining the new season.
