Netflix’s One Piece has featured several hints and clues as to what may happen next in the series, seemingly proving its return even before its creator, Eiichiro Oda, announced the second season renewal. One of the live-action adaptation’s writers, Matt Owens, revealed his favorite Easter eggs and their meaning.
One Piece was released on August 31 to great success. Over a month on the streamer, it has remained on its Global Top 10 of English TV shows in 47 countries for the week of October 2 to 8, with 2.5 million views and 18.8 viewing hours. That said, its second-season renewal doesn’t surprise many, and Owens revealed the first season featured several Easter eggs that teased the coming of very important characters and moments in the future.
In a discussion with fans on Reddit, the show’s co-showrunner said that Easter eggs were the fun part of the show. He even talked to different departments to add more to the series. And his favorite, the bounty posters. So, what do these bounty posters mean?
According to Owens, these help introduce the pirates to the new One Piece fans, who have only watched the series. For fans who already know who they are, they come as fun details. However, he hinted that not everything they featured was seen on the small screen. So, fans should be on the lookout for who and what will come out next in One Piece Season 2.
