It’s a pretty well-established fact that the popular Halloween and Knives Out actress Jamie Lee Curtis has had a special place in her heart for the shonen series, One Piece. After it was announced that the live-action One Piece series is going to have a second season arrive on Netflix, plenty of fans started wondering if Curtis would really sign up for the role of Tony Tony Chopper’s mentor, Dr. Kureha.

However, we will wait for Curtis to say anything on the topic since the actress has already confirmed that she will ask the streaming platform if she could join One Piece’s cast. Fans have wanted Curtis to become a part of the live-action adaptation’s cast for a long time, even before Netflix released the series. She stated multiple times in the past that she fell in love with Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece.

Earlier in 2023, the Halloween star shared in certain terms that once the Hollywood strikes are over, she will see if she can become the most notable doctor ever featured in the world of One Piece. Curtis shared a fan art of herself as the character Dr. Kureha, the doctor who watched over Tony Tony Chopper while they were on Drum Island. The actress clearly stated that he is seriously considering becoming a part of the live-action anime adaptation.

The caption reads, "ONCE the STRIKE against the greed of the AMTPT is SETTLED with a FAIR CONTRACT, I will lobby along with the growing fan frenzy to become Doctor Kureha." If Netflix’s One Piece plans on continuing the source material, Dr. Kureha is going to be a main part of the second season as she’ll be featured along with Tony Tony Chopper.

Who is Tony Tony Chopper in One Piece?

Tony Tony Chopper is a reindeer and doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates who ate Hito Hito no Mi, a Devil Fruit that helps the users transform into a human hybrid. He learned medicine on Drum Island and has the ultimate goal to travel all over the world in the hopes that he might end up with the ability to cure any disease that he comes across. Furthermore, he is also a Senior Officer of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Tony Tony Chopper is the crew's sixth member, which he joined at the end of the Drum Island Arc.

One Piece’s second season was recently confirmed, and creator Eiichiro Oda teased the arrival of the reindeer who will become the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates. In case Jamie Lee Curtis does end up being added to the live-action adaptation's cast, One Piece will have a seriously powerful roster for the second season.
