September is not yet over, but Netflix is already working on its next line-up of K-content for October 2024. Recently, the streamer confirmed the coming of a new historical K-movie, Uprising, with Kang Dong-won, Park Jung-min, and Cha Seung-won in the lead. After starting its production in June 2023, the film is now set to release on October 11, 2024.

Along with the confirmation, Netflix has released an official poster for Uprising. Although the visual doesn’t feature any of the three leads, Kang, Park, and Cha, the appearance of a sword held up high by a man with a red cloth wrapped around his arm perfectly captures an upcoming war set several decades ago.

The film was selected as the opening movie for the 29th Busan International Film Festival on October 2, the first for a streaming flick to set the stage for a prestigious event. That said, Korean film programmer Jeong Han-seok described the movie (via Entertainment Naver) as a “sophisticated and powerful historical drama masterpiece that equally exudes the best charm in all areas.”
