More than a year ago, My Hero Academia shocked everyone when the beloved manga series killed off one of the main heroes: Katsuki Bakugo. Everyone mourned of his loss but as surprising as the manga series could get, Bakugo came from the dead and back to the battlefield. He brings with his return the mystery on how it all happened and finally, Chapter 405 explained how.
In My Hero Academia Chapter 362, Bakugo literally shattered everyone's hearts when his was blown into pieces in the hands of Shigaraki. Bakugo was left with a hole on his chest, literally, and at that point, his death was certain. However, in the recent turn of events, in Chapter 403, Bakugo surprised everyone upon coming back to the beloved manga series and basically making the impossible possible through being alive after everything that has happened to him more than a year ago.
How did Bakugo come back to life?
My Hero Academia Chapter 405 finally revealed how Bakugo returned to life as Edgeshot narrates what exactly happened to the hero. Edgeshot is the hero who patched Bakugo from within and sewn the hero's heart, lungs, and other innards which were affected by the blow from Shigaraki. Edgeshot has a quirk called Foldabody and through that, he entered into the hero's body and made himself something similar to a thin surgical suture which he used to sew Bakugo to life.
While doing so would put a threat to his life by affecting his life span, Edgeshot made it out alive and he extracted himself from Bakugo. As he did, Edgeshot revealed that he was not the only reason why the hero is still alive, he only sew him to life but Bakugo also did some fighting for his life. It turns out that Edgeshot almost gave up on Bakugo when he could not restore the heart and lungs of the hero.
Just as Edgeshot was about to give up, he noticed that Bakugo had a bead of sweat through his bloodstream and this was what helped Edgeshot go through with the process of bringing the hero back to life. The bead of sweat of the hero seemingly showed his will to live and to continue fighting for the heroes until the end. Still, Bakugo remains reeling from the effects of his "almost death" as Edgeshot revealed that every breath that the hero will take would be a "hellish agony," but with the will of Bakugo, not even death can stop him, literally!
