As the release of My Demon is nearly approaching, SBS has been dropping more and more preview stills and teasers for the new K-drama to hype up fans even more. And this seems to be proven effective, with the number of fans who can’t wait to see Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung’s incredible chemistry on the small screen. The My Demon teaser begins with a stunning view of Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung’s wedding venue. As the newly married couple starts to walk down the aisle in the middle of celebrating guests, a surprised woman asks, “Married man Gu Won?” The next scene shows the two discussing their prenuptial agreement as they enter a contract marriage.
As Jung Gu Won (Song Kang) says that it’s crazy to marry a human, Do Do Hee (Kim Yoo Jung) asks the reason as they both benefit from it. Gu Won needs his tattoo and powers back from Do Hee, while she needs his skills, and she sees this contract marriage as the only way for the two of them to coexist. Gu Won ends up signing the contract.
As they begin their life together, Gu Won and Do Hee celebrate, with the latter feeding her husband the cake she baked. But their first fight as a married couple is about to begin as Gu Won looks hesitant by the taste. Also, when Gu Won tries to bring all his things to their apartment, Do Hee kicks him out of the house with all his stuff. “Remove all your unnecessary belongings,” she says.
However, this won’t stop him from coming back. He returns in the middle of the night only to find out that Do Hee is waiting for him in the dark, making him jump in surprise. Later, after coming out of the shower, Gu Won asks Do Hee if she’s going to sleep. “What else would we do if we aren’t going to sleep?” she retorts. The next scene shows them lying together in one bed while Gu Won holds Do Hee’s wrist with his tattoo. “We should try something,” he suggests.
Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung Talk About My Demon Characters
Before fans see Song Kang as a human monster in Sweet Home Season 2, fans will see him first as a demon in My Demon. Here, he will play the role of Jung Gu Won, opposite Kim Yoo Jung’s Do Do Hee, who has a demon-like attitude.
In a discussion with Naver, as translated by EpicFlix, Song Kang revealed the series’ romantic comedy genre made him interested in doing the show. Dubbed the Son of Netflix and with several K-drama series the actor has done in the past, he claimed this would be the first time he would do a rom-com. Reading the series’ script also drew him to the show and his character.
On the other hand, Kim Yoo Jung also told Naver (via Soompi) that she found everything about My Demon interesting, from her character to her storyline to the cast and Do Hee’s chemistry with Gu Won. She even described the other characters in the series as “charming.” “The project’s charming points are the push and pull moments Do Do Hee and Jung Gu Won will showcase as they try not to get caught by each other,” she said.
My Demon will be released on SBS on November 24 at 10 p.m. KST. International fans can also stream it on Netflix. Just a few days away, fans will finally see Song Kang back on the streamer with a brand-new story to tell and a love team with whom he has great chemistry.
