Insomniac Games recently revealed some first-look images of the iconic Spider-Man villain Sandman, who is ready to climb into the much-anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. More than a dozen characters have already been confirmed to show up in Spider-Man 2 as the two web-slingers Miles Morales and Peter Parker fight to protect New York City.
This list includes not only the good guys but also some of the terrifying villains that players will come across. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features a total of nine villains that the two Spider-Men will go up against, most of them led by Venom and Kraven the Hunter. However, there are still tons of secrets that are going to be revealed once we start exploring the game.
PlayStation recently released a launch trailer for the Spider-Man 2 game, which confirmed the appearance of Sandman and gave players their first glimpse of him in the upcoming PS5 game. In the trailer, Peter and Miles can be seen caught in a massive sandstorm swinging around while they go up against the iconic villain.

Unfortunately, Thomas Haden Church won’t be playing Sandman in this universe the way he did in both Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 and MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, this time around, players will get to go up against a character named William Baker, who attempted to rob F.E.A.S.T before May Parker ruins his plan.
Even though this might be the same Sandman that fans know so well from the comics, Flint Marko was just an alias made by Baker to hide his identity from his imprisoned father. From the looks of it, Peter does not have his Venom symbiote suit in these scenes, suggesting that the two Spider-Men face Sandman a bit earlier in the game.

Villains Set To Appear In Marvel's Spider-Man 2
More than a dozen villains have appeared in Marvel’s Spider-Man, including Doctor Octopus and his Sinister Six. On top of those, seven more villains showed up to destroy Harlem in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be adding a lot more villains to their already long list, even though players are still eagerly waiting for Insomniac Games to reveal more surprises regarding the sequel.
Alongside Kraven and Venom, we have seen tons of footage featuring this universe’s version of the Lizard, who is going to run around NYC while Peter and Miles try to capture it. While the inevitable battle with Venom is going to be the game’s highlight, there are going to be a lot more villains for players to go up against before that challenge appears.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on Friday, October 20, 2023.
