Insomniac Games revealed another one of its character posters, giving fans a look at Kraven the Hunter ahead of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s release. Sergei Kravinoff, commonly known as Kraven, is one of the oldest enemies of Spider-Man in Marvel Comics, who first showed up in the 47th issue of The Amazing Spider-Man back in 1967. He is a major mercenary and game hunter who tests his skills and abilities by going up against the web-slinger.
This particular battle between the two has occurred plenty of times in Spider-Man video games, including the Sam Raimi film tie-ins and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales did not feature Kraven, but the hunter is all set to appear in the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The glory-seeking hunter heads over to New York to capture the superhumans of Manhattan, but Kraven and his team might just end up hitting the jackpot due to Peter becoming infected with the Venom Symbiote.
During the initial teaser of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players could only hear Kraven the Hunter, who was voiced by Red Dead Redemption 2’s Jim Pirri. However, the super-human tracking mercenary finally showed up in the flesh in the gameplay trailer that Insomniac Games released back in May. So far, fans are loving Kraven’s appearance, claiming it to be accurate to the comics.
Insomniac Games recently posted a promotional picture of Kraven the Hunter on their official X account ahead of Spider-Man 2’s release on October 20. Kraven can be seen wearing his lion-themed hunting garb, with a huge skull present on his shoulder, a big hunting knife in his hand, and his massive biceps, which are enough to scare the other person. With the release date quickly approaching, Insomniac Games has started advertising for the upcoming title.
They have also been releasing some promotional posters for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as they shared a similar picture of Peter wearing his black Symbiote suit. Kraven the Hunter’s appearance in the upcoming title means some serious business, and now we can see the entire picture of the mercenary in the latest promotional poster shared by Insomniac. The developers have done an amazing job at carrying the hunter’s classic tribal look over to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. There’s only some time left till we finally get to go up against the dangerous mercenary in the upcoming Insomniac Games title.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023.
