The Marvel Cinematic Universe is now deep into the Multiverse Saga which brings in the stories from the alternate timelines. With this path that the franchise is taking, it makes it possible to have characters appear in one project from another. What's exciting is that Marvel's big boss, Kevin Feige, teases crossovers that could happen in the near future!

If crossover would be the topic, possibly the best example in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be Spider-Man: No Way Home where the three Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland found each other in one film, and Marvel's What If...? where various narratives from the multiverse come alive through the stories of Uatu. As revealed in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki, other alternate realities exist called the multiverse and through these, the beloved heroes and villains have a version of themselves in other universes. If you'd want to see more, well, you're in luck!

The Marvel Studios’ The Marvel Cinematic Universe - An Official Timeline (via The Direct) reveals a statement by Marvel's big boss, Kevin Feige, addressing the possibility of more crossovers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Feige reveals that the titles falling under Sony and Fox Marvel Universes are all canon to the MCU. Kevin Feige stated:

On the Multiverse note, we recognize that there are stories—movies and series that are canonical to Marvel but were created by different storytellers during different periods of Marvel’s history. The timeline presented in this book is specific to the MCU’s Sacred Timeline through Phase 4. But, as we move forward and dive deeper into the Multiverse Saga, you never know when timelines may just crash or converge (hint, hint/spoiler alert).

With the titles under Sony and Fox Marvel Universes canon to the MCU, this confirms that projects like the first two Deadpool movies, the X-Men films, and more are being fitted into the current Multiverse Saga. This could mean that the previous releases could be alternate timelines or realities which may open for potential crossovers in the near future. While the concept of the multiverse may get confusing considering the intricacies of the narrative, having Kevin Feige confirm them made it make sense to the overall package that the MCU has to offer.

The timelines in the MCU are starting to crossover each other. Loki Season 2 reveals that the various timelines are continuously branching out from what is called as the "Sacred Timeline" and with what Kevin Feige stated, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Marvel series on Netflix are not canon. Still, even with that fact, characters like Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) are now jumping into the Sacred Timeline with their characters being made canon by their respective MCU appearances. Hope is not yet lost for those Marvel properties that are not within the Sacred Timeline.

With the Sony and Fox Marvel universes now canon to the MCU, the possibilities of future crossovers are endless! As the MCU is about to introduce the X-Men into the franchise, it could bring in the mutants and the Avengers together in one project. The Fantastic Four is about to get a reboot and their upcoming movie could bring in characters from the Sony and Fox Marvel universes. What's good is that the actors who had been known to play certain characters could also be retained in the MCU now that they are canon.
