Virgin River Season 5 is one of the most highly-anticipated new seasons coming to the streaming platform this year, and fans of the hit romantic drama are eager for more information they can get for the new episodes, including the ones for Season 6. The series, based on the novels by Robyn Carr, premiered its first season on Netlfix on December 6, 2019, and the series was renewed for a fourth and fifth season in September 2021.
When Netflix announced that Virgin River Season 5 would be released in Fall 2023, they kept fans excited with the announcement that the show is getting renewed for a sixth season. That means, fans can expect 24 new episodes coming to Netlfix between both seasons.
But it seems fans aren’t the only ones hyped for Virgin River’s highly-anticipated return for Seasons 5 and 6. Martin Henderson, who plays Jack Sheridan in the show, recently posted a photo on Instagram with a caption alluding to being on set for Virgin River Season 6, getting fans riled up. The photo shows Henderson sitting in front of a mountain with a grin on his face and lens flares from the sun coming into the picture.

In the initial caption of the photo, he seemingly referred to the Virgin River Season 5 set photo as Season 6, but he corrected himself and edited the caption that currently reads: “Waiting on set finding sunbeams shooting season 5… sorry I originally wrote season 6 which was a silly mistake because we haven’t made season 6.” So, no, the actor wasn't in the set for Season 6.
Production for Virgin River Season 6 hasn't started yet, and it's unlikely that much of the season has ever been written due to the ongoing writers' strike. It's likely that filming on Season 6 could begin by the end of this year, but it wouldn't be surprising production begins in 2024.
