It has been weeks since the Loki Season 2 finale hit the small screens, but many have yet to move on after seeing the God of Mischief’s glorious purpose. As the second season’s final episode sees a new Loki as the God of Time, managing the infinite branches of the multiverse, seemingly giving the series a complete conclusion, will Loki Season 3 still happen? Thankfully, Marvel executive producer Kevin Wright gives an update about the series’ possible continuation, though quite hazy.
Since Loki Season 2 ended, Wright has been giving fans hope for the possible Loki Season 3. However, he seems to be giving mixed updates, from saying there are still a lot of stories to be told to already telling the best and most fulfilling tale. So, what’s the real deal? Will there still be a new season?

What did Kevin Wright say about Loki Season 3?
Wright has been giving hints at the possibility of having Loki Season 3. But at the same time, he also seems to suggest that the show has finally reached its conclusion. In an interview with Variety, the Marvel Studios boss admitted they didn’t “develop this season going.” If ever there was a third season, they had to tee it up just like they did in the first season before announcing the show’s return.
However, he was also convinced that the show could go on. “There certainly can be many, many, many more stories told with Loki in the Loki world,” he said.
In another interview, he told Collider that the series’ creative team treated the second season as if it were the last to tell the “best, most fulfilling story.” But as Wright loved everyone he had worked with on the show, he would never mind continuing “telling stories with this team.” That said, he left the door open for possible future projects, may it be Loki Season 3 or else.

Will Loki Season 3 happen?
So far, there are no words if Loki Season 3 will happen. It may still be early for the show to have a second season renewal, as it’s only a couple of weeks after it ended. The first season wasn’t renewed until over a month after its release, so the same thing may happen now.
It’s also good to note that there’s a big possibility that Loki may appear in other MCU movies first. Now that Loki has become the keeper of time and space, he may be seen in universe-mixing stories, like Deadpool 3, where Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is about to bring Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) into the MCU.
The incursion, the two universes’ collision, teased at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, may also have something to do with the next chapter of Loki’s life. As Doctor Strange 3 will not be released until 2026 if its release schedule is followed, it may take a long while before Loki Season 3 happens, or if there will be one. Loki Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Disney+.
